Happy 1 Year Anniversary Glam Rock!! XD

Exactly a year ago today, Glam Rock Glory Days's web connections were complete! Then in January 2011, Glam Rock gained a Youtube channel, and now, Glam Rock turns a year old!

I'm so excited for my business, even though it's gotten little exposure. I've been advertising old-school with flyers and business cards, word of mouth, facebook and blogger, and the like. Now it's time to get some more exposure. I'll be hosting a "Glam Rock Party" on March 26 at 7, at Discovery Green. Here's the address --> 1500 McKinney St. Houston, Tx 77096. --

Anyhoo, the Glam Rock Party is an 80's-inspired party, where everyone will dress in 80's attire [or like their fave 80's musician or artist] and meet up with me for food and fun. I'll also be taking orders for those who want to buy anything of mine or want custom-made.

And btw: Glam Rock Glory Days will be coming out with a Wordpress also, so be on the lookout for that!!! Thanks a mill to my supporters and subscribers, and let's celebrate Glam Rock's anniversary! ^^

Inspirations and Other Ideas for Sale

Granted I have a job now [yes, a paying job ^^] I don't have any posts between now and Feb 9th [sorry for that btw], So I have been on and off creating. Here are a few items I made during the V-day sale, and the clothes that gave me inspiration, while I had very little time off.

Hearts Layered Corset skirt-- an idea I got from
the creator of SmarmyClothes. I go to her everytime I need an idea of what to do next and also just to keep myself posted on what she makes next. Check her out: http://www.smarmyclothes.com/
Basically I took a little girl's tank and black fabric for the waistband, and white pillowcase, black fabric and tulle for the panels and an already assembled pink and white petticoat.

Punk Halter from a t-shirt-- inspired from this anime chick. I really wanted to do the skirt from 2 t-shirts too, so you may see that really soon. Here's the vid: [link]

Assymmetrical sweater skirt-- this idea from a sweater vest was brought on by my friend Eli Lohman. He does a bit of sewing himself, and I took the idea and ran with it. I showed him, and he was amazed! XDD

Summer Plaid tube from a Button-down-- this idea from GiannyL. I'm an avid viewer and I loooooover her youtube vids [yes, I subscribed]. This is for FashRecycling and I made matching tutu cuffs from the.. uh, cuffs...

Layered Tulle dress-- a really fucking awesome idea from GiannyL and I swear I wore it out for no reason with the significant other ♥ I made a video response just for her, and I really am gonna try her other ideas.

I thank the pictures, websites, and artists for their ideas, and without them, some of the Glam Rock ideas probably wouldn't have come to life.
